Bicycle Rentals

Kayak Rentals
Lopez has wonderful kayaking opportunities for every skill level. Paddle in a completely protected bay just steps away from Edenwild. This is a great opportunity to view local nature such as eagles, seals, shore birds, starfish and more. Tides determine launch times.
Half Day Rentals are $29.99 pp.
Kayak Crabbing
Spend a day on the water crabbing for Dungeness and Red Rock Crab while kayaking. You will start on the shore with a basic crabbing lesson and a review of regulations before you are sent out on your own to pursue giant island crabs. Summer Crab Season opens on select days in July. Winter Season is open every day from October to December. A State Fishing License and Crab Catch Card is required. Both can be purchased on island. Tides determine launch times.

Tree Climbing Island Giants
Do something incredibly unique, climb huge trees 100-200 ft tall, including some rare old-growth trees here on Lopez Island. Explore and learn about the unique ecosystems of our island’s giants. Once you reach the top of the canopy, enjoy an incredible view of ocean, mountains, and wildlife including bald eagles. Open to all levels and ages down to 8 years old.

Seaweed Cooking Workshop
Join custom knife makers and island homesteading duo, Chris and Krista of Skarpari for a Shore to Table experience. Begin with a low tide foraging expedition for edible seaweeds followed by a cooking workshop in the Edenwild Kitchen. Make seaweed salsa and tacos from island sourced ingredients. End with delicious plated dinners in the Edenwild Dining room and enough extra salsa to impress at your next get-together. This 4 hour experience begins at 4:00 pm on the following dates:

Fishing Charters
From family groups to the most experienced, we have fishing charters available for all levels of fishermen using. General bottom fishing is open year round. Halibut opens from April through May. Lingcod and Spot Prawn opens from May through June. Salmon opens in July.

If you want to enjoy an island bike ride that’s easy and relaxing, then the Fishermans Bay Loop is perfect! This flat ride goes around Fishermans Bay, beginning in Lopez Village and ending at Fishermans Bay Preserve. Whether you’re a beginner or a veteran cyclist, Fishermans Bay Loop offers an easy yet enjoyable journey with plenty of places to pause and admire the views along the way. After all your efforts, take some time to beachcomb or catch some rays on the sandy beach at Fishermans Bay Preserve.

Tour de Lopez Bike Map (Advanced)
The Tour de Lopez is an annual ride that happens each April, where thousands of cyclists ride Lopez in the island’s largest biking event. You can pedal our island’s most famous ride any time of the year. Designed by the locals and sure to give you plenty of rural country roads and stunning coastal views, the Tour De Lopez Long Route is our island’s best ride. With a start at the Ferry Landing and an ending point at Edenwild Inn, this Lopez island bike trail allows cyclists plenty of opportunity to take in the island’s beauty.

Lopez Northend Loop Bike Map (Medium)
The North end of Lopez Island Bike Ride is a nice island loop for the moderate bicyclist. If you are riding from the Ferry landing, you will add 2 miles to this route. Route highlights include Hummel Lake, North End Farmlands, beachside rides, and shady old-growth forests. Keep an eye out for wildlife like deer, seas, and bald eagles along your journey. This ride ends at the seaside village of Lopez. This is a perfect San Juan Islands pedal with just enough difficulty to keep things interesting without draining all your energy.

Rent at Lopez Ferry Landing or Lopez Village
After disembarking from the ferry, make your way up the hill and you’ll find our Lopez Island bike rack – your reserved rental bikes will be waiting for you! We recommend making a pit stop at Odlin County Park(1 mile from ferry) or Lopez Village(4.5 miles from Ferry) before embarking on your adventure. There you will find our Islands Stores. Biking on the Interisland Ferry
Biking on the interisland ferry is a great way to explore the san Juan islands. If you are coming from Friday Harbor or Orcas, you can walk on the ferry and pick up your rented bikes at the ferry landing. After a day of exploring, you can return your rental bikes to the ferry landing; it’s that simple! San Juan Islands Marine Forecast
Edenwild is one of the only outfitter in the San Juan Islands to offer year round Kayaking. Weather is rarely a factor for summer kayaking. Checking the marine forecast during the fall, winter and spring season is a good idea. We make sure conditions are safe for our paddlers.
Tide Chart San Juan Islands
Tides and currents play a major role in launch times for kayaking trips. Your kayak rental must start as a low or high tide when the current is slack. Use this link to check the launch times for your desired date. We will contact you about the launch time based on tides when you book your rental.
