Bicycle Rentals and Tours
Discover why Bicycling magazine ranks Lopez Island as the best ride in Washington State. With a gorgeous combination of pastoral and coastal scenery a Lopez ride is a “must do.”
Hybrid Bicycle and Village/Beach Cruisers rentals are $30 pp a day. Guided Farm to Shore Tours start at $80 pp.
ORCA WHALE TOURS
No trip to the islands is complete without a whale tour. The calm waters of the San Juans are home to a vast array of sea mammals including Orca, Humpback, Grey, and Minke whales. Our boat guarantees sightings May-Sept. On your search for whales you will also see Dall’s porpoise, seals, sea lions, sea birds and bald eagles. An onboard naturalist will help you appreciate our amazing ecosystem.
Trips range from 3 to 4 hours. Adults $109 pp, 17 and under $89 pp, 12 and under $69 pp.
GUIDED ISLAND HIKES
Lopez Island features some of the most diverse hiking in the San Juan Islands and is home to the largest natural preserve within the islands, designated National Monument founded in 2013. We are happy to assist you in planning the perfect hike. We also offer very special guided hike along an exclusive trail that features one of the most amazing vistas of the Pacific Northwest. Our 4 hour guided is moderately difficult with steep declines. Hikes can be customized to meet your ability.
Lunch and snack are included, $65 pp.
CLASSIC SAILING WHALE TOUR
CLASSIC SAILING WHALE TOUR
Experience the most unique whale watching tour in the San Juan Islands aboard a 42’ classic Northwest sailing vessel just steps away from the inn. Let captains David and Barbara teach you to sail on your quest to find J-pod, our island’s very own family of Orcas. Anchor in hidden coves and explore beaches and distant islands. This is a wonderful tour for couples as well as families and will be customized for each group.
Half day tours, 5 hours, are $130 pp. Full day tours, 8 hours, are $175 pp. Add a delicious Salmon dinner for $20 pp.
Kayak Rentals and Guided Tours
Lopez has wonderful kayaking opportunities for every skill level. Paddle in a completely protected bay just steps away from the Inn. This is a great opportunity to view local nature such as eagles, seals, shore birds, starfish and more. Ask about our guided tours including evening paddles were you will experience the magical neon glow of bioluminescence with each stroke of the paddle.
Half day rentals are $40 pp. Guided tours start at $65 pp.
PRIVATE FISHING CHARTERS AND ISLAND EXCURSIONS
The San Juan Island boasts some of the best fishing in the Pacific Northwest. Fish for Salmon, Ling Cod, Rock Fish, Halibut, Cabazon, Flounder, Greenling and many other species. Drop a pot for Dungeness and Red Rock Crab. During the early spring, set out for Pink and Spot prawn. Whale watching or outer island excursions can be combined with a fishing trip for the ultimate island adventure!

Sunset Wine or Brew Cruise
Sail into a spectacular sunset aboard a classic harbor launch while savoring a light snack and Lopez Island wine or craft brew. During your cruise be on the lookout for Bald eagles, Harbor seals, Dall’s porpoise, and Steller sea lions. Pass one of the last Salmon Reef Netters in the world, a Native fishing method. Take in the majestic Olympic mountains, towering Mt. Rainer snowcapped Cascades and picturesque Cattle Pass lighthouse. A perfect way to end a day of island adventure.
This 3 hour cruise is $65 pp.
Iceberg Point Birding
Explore Iceberg Point with local seabird specialist Joe Behnke. Hike along the spectacular coastline keeping our eyes peeled for marbled murrelets, tufted puffins, rhinoceros auklets and many more wild characters. If you are not in for a hike, Joe can lead you on a birding tour around Fisherman Bay, stopping at several vantage points to observe birds in a range of habitats. Summer is a great time to observe migrating shorebirds stopping over on mudflats and seabirds that are breeding on local birding.
Tours run from 2 to 3 hours and are $45 pp.
Join instructor Llewellyne Arden in one of the most peaceful and picturesque yoga studios in the San Juan Islands. Trained in the Lyengar method, Llewellyne has a therapeutic approach to yoga offering options for all body types and challenges. Llewellyne approaches yoga as a way of life and is passionate about helping people connect with themselves more deeply and improving their overall quality of life through yoga.

Lopez features many beaches, each unique and beautiful. Plan the perfect beach day at Odlin County Park with its gorgeous stretch of sandy beach and fire rings for summertime barbecues. Spencer Spit is also a great option for a hiking/beach adventure and great for families. Otis Perkins beach offers one of the most beautiful sunsets in the San Juan Islands and is perfect for beachcombing. Watmaugh is a magical sheltered cove with views of Mt. Baker. Pack a picnic!
Local Farms and Fisheries
Our island farmers and fisherman produce an amazing array of organic meat, cheese, seafood, fruits, vegetables, wine, bread and pastry as well as wool products all right here on Lopez Island. Take a day to explore local farm stands and create the perfect picnic or bring home a taste of Lopez. Be sure to check out our famous Farmers market every Saturday during summer in the green space across from the Edenwild.
Lopez Village features a variety of restaurants, boutiques, cafes, galleries, coffee shops, wine tastings, a bakery, as well as a fully-stocked grocery store, and organic grocery. The Village also offers a town beach, kayak launch, and a wetland preserve. The Edenwild is located in the heart of Lopez Village and steps away from all that the village has to offer.
Lopez Island is accessible by ferry, Seaplane or San Juan airlines
Lopez Island is accessible by Ferry from Anacortes, WA. You will arrive on Lopez after 40 minute Ferry ride through scenic and calm waters. We highly recommend our guests make reservations for their sailing to Lopez when traveling by car, you cannot make a return reservation.

FLYING TO LOPEZ

San Juan Air offers flights from various locations to Lopez Island Airport, located 3 miles from the Edenwild. Beat the traffic and fly directly to Lopez from Anacortes or Bellingham.

Lopez is one of the best biking destinations in the Northwest. Some bicyclists choose to leave their car behind and bike on the ferry. The Edenwild is a three mile ride from the ferry landing with minimal hills. Bicycling is certainly a great option, but unless your preferred method of transportation is biking we encourage you to bring your car to explore everything the Island has to offer. We also rent bicycles at the Inn.
