No trip to the islands is complete without a whale tour. The calm waters of the San Juans are home to a vast array of sea mammals including Orca, Humpback, Grey, and Minke whales. Our boat guarantees sightings May-Sept. On your search for whales you will also see Dall’s porpoise, seals, sea lions, sea birds and bald eagles. An onboard naturalist will help you appreciate our amazing ecosystem.

Kayak Rentals & Guided Tours
Lopez has wonderful kayaking opportunities for every skill level. Paddle in a completely protected bay just steps away from the Inn. This is a great opportunity to view local nature such as eagles, seals, shore birds, starfish and more. Ask about our guided tours including evening paddles were you will experience the magical neon glow of bioluminescence with each stroke of the paddle.

Lopez features many beaches, each unique and beautiful. Plan the perfect beach day at Odlin County Park with its gorgeous stretch of sandy beach and fire rings for summertime barbecues. Spencer Spit is also a great option for a hiking/beach adventure and great for families. Otis Perkins beach offers one of the most beautiful sunsets in the San Juan Islands and is perfect for beachcombing. Watmaugh is a magical sheltered cove with views of Mt. Baker. Pack a picnic!
Local Farms & Fisheries
Our island farmers and fisherman produce an amazing array of organic meat, cheese, seafood, fruits, vegetables, wine, bread and pastry as well as wool products all right here on Lopez Island. Take a day to explore local farm stands and create the perfect picnic or bring home a taste of Lopez. Be sure to check out our Farmers Market every Saturday during summer in the green space across from the Edenwild.
Lopez Village features a variety of restaurants, boutiques, cafes, galleries, coffee shops, a bakery, as well as a fully-stocked grocery store, and organic grocery. The Village also offers a town beach, kayak launch, and a wetland preserve. The Edenwild is located in the heart of Lopez Village and steps away from all that the village has to offer.
