While Lopez Island couldn’t be further from NY, you can enjoy a legit Nathan’s Hotdog and a salty street pretzel right on the lawn of The Edenwild most Summer Saturdays; the perfect accompaniment to a cold microbrew featured at Brewvado Taproom directly across the street. Plus you will be supporting these two teenage entrepreneurs who bring New York hustle to their Lopez Island food truck scene.
Authentic Mexican Fare
Who doesn’t love authentic Mexican street food? El Taco ‘Bout It is run by Victor and Jenny who combine family recipes with Lopez Island meats and veggies. Warning, one taste and you will be obsessed with this Lopez Island Food truck, especially the tacos. You will find this truck set up in the parking lot of Isabel’s Expresso Friday thru Sunday.
Two Bites of Italy
If pizza is your thing then you must try food from these Lopez Island Food Trucks during your visit. APIZZAPIE hails from Oregon and serves up traditional Neapolitan Pies that will not disappoint. You will find our island’s newest food truck parked across the street from Holly B’s on Lopez Road. Want a wood-fired pizza paired with the perfect glass of wine? Head to Vita’s Wildly Delicious to enjoy Pizza, wine, and live music during Taverna Tuesdays, and evenings throughout the summer.
Classic Americana Ice Cream Truck
If you grew up in any American city or suburb, I bet you remember Summer days chasing down an ice cream truck as a kid. Nothing brings you back to the good old days quite like the carnival music and classic novelty ice creams. Get your creamsicle, or ice cream sandwich on the lawn of Edenwild. You can’t miss the mint green 3 wheeled truck with the giant pink ice cream cone mounted on top. Walter is another young Lopez Island entrepreneur ready to serve you every summer Saturday.
Comfort Food from Québec
Fries, cheese curds, and gravy is a mouth-watering dish known as poutine, a dish invented by our Northern Neighbors. Jen and Ted of Poutine Your Mouth has been serving up their renditions of this popular street food all over the country at festivals, including Coachella, before settling on Lopez Island. While famous for Poutine, they have plenty of other options on the menu and all are mouth-watering. You will find their whimsical food truck serving up lunch in front of Blossom’s Grocery Store on Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays.
